Anthony Bourdain described Old Town Ale House as “the most storied, legendary drinking establishments in the nation.” On this episode, he also had drinks at The Hideout, a spot that began in 1934 as a factory bar. For drinks, he also suggested Happy Village Bar and The Mutiny (already closed as of this writing), although he did not visit these two bars during this Chicago trip.

On this episode, Anthony Bourdain visited Billy Goat Tavern located underground, directly underneath the Chicago Tribune building. He mentioned Kuma’s Corner as a burger joint where “the lines may be long but where heavy metal aficionados could find the burger of their dreams”, with burgers having metal names and whisky served on tap. Another option he mentioned was Tank Noodle if you want pho instead of burgers.
