Dark Margarita
Margarita recipe with anejo tequila : try it and leave your comments below!
Equipment
- 1 Cocktail Cup
- 1 shaker
- 1 fine mesh sieve
Ingredients
- 60 ml Añejo tequila (100% agave only)
- 22 ml Grand marnier cordon bleu
- 22 ml Lime juice (Freshly squeezed)
- 15 ml Egg white
- Salt
- 1 Very thin slice of lime
- Orange bitters
Instructions
- Put lime juice on the outside rim of a cocktail glass. Pour salt to make a rim on the outside of the glass only.
- In a shaker filled with ice, put all ingredients – except the lime slice – plus a tiny pinch of salt (for luck!)
- Shake vigorously
- Pour, through the strainer, into the cup
- Garnish with the thin slice of lime and four drops of orange bitters over the foam
Notes
– Avoid Angostura brand orange bitters. They are too strong for this recipe.
– You can substitute tequila with a good mescal reposado for a more racy, smoky cocktail.
– Add agave syrup to taste. I prefer my cocktails a little drier, so the Grand Marnier sugar is more than enough for me!
