I don\u2019t disburse a penny and get to eat in some of the best restaurants in the world in exchange for my work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, if my website was full of negative reviews, restaurateurs wouldn\u2019t let me through the door anymore, would they?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other hand, if I spend my time raving about everything equally, why would any reader spend time on my blog?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And&nbsp;if I show up at a restaurant and find that everything is a total disaster, then I simply avoid talking about it. It\u2019s my mistake, after all: I have the responsibility to research where I\u2019m going before accepting an invitation. And I don\u2019t have to accept every single one of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But what if a very well-rated restaurant offers something quite unique and pursues an assertive marketing line? Let\u2019s say, by having \u201cExperience Taste\u201d as their slogan?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s the exact reason why <a href=\"http:\/\/www.continentscondiments.com\/thefinediningblog\/tian-vegetarian-restaurant-in-munich-underwhelming\/\" target=\"_blank\">reviewing restaurant Tian in Munich was so difficult for me<\/a>. Click to read my review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I personally think that I have stay honest with my readers and shoulder the risk of alienating possible clients. And so that\u2019s what I did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-3 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why Go in the First Place<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As I said before, I don\u2019t accept all invitations. Why should I go somewhere just to go underline every shortcoming? That\u2019s a bit cruel, no? Well\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tian is a vegetarian fine dining chain. There are 2 bistros in Vienna, one fine-dining restaurant in Munich and another full-service white-tablecloth place in the Austrian capital. They combine a lot of the current trends: vegetarian\/vegan, fine dining, and, of course, the buzzword-to-end-all-buzzwords, organic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I had the opportunity to visit Tian Munich during my last visit to the German city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have to admit that I\u2019m a bit critical of vegetarian food in the first place, finding most of the veggie offerings quite bland and constantly victim of suboptimal preparation. That\u2019s why I was so eager to finally visit a vegetarian fine-dining establishment. I was very curious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, vegetarians and vegans have been the target of much snark in the last few years. From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eater.com\/2016\/2\/24\/11105502\/gordon-ramsay-allergic-to-vegans\">Gordon Ramsay<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/2016\/08\/22\/italian-tv-chef-compares-vegans-to-a-sect-and-declares-id-kill-t\/\">Italian celebrity chef Gianfranco Vissani<\/a> and many more in between, chefs don\u2019t like preparing veggie food, to the point where up to 15% of them admit \u201cto putting animal products in their vegetarian dishes\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s partly caused by the \u201cmilitant vegan\u201d crowd\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.passiveaggressivenotes.com\/2011\/07\/06\/self-righteous-vegan\/\">self-righteous<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/missoulian.com\/news\/local\/urban-farming-nonprofit-vandalized-by-animal-rights-activists-over-slaughtering\/article_11f9bd45-2ec3-5a96-ae8f-1063a06ae97a.html\">aggressive<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-2788060\/diners-film-laugh-emotional-activist-storms-california-restaurant-tells-eating-violence-not-food.html\">shrieking-in-convulsions<\/a> way to shame people for enjoying a varied diet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/story\/2002\/04\/30\/vegan-couple-starved-toddler-cops-say.html\">On top of<\/a> that, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-1371172\/French-vegan-couple-face-jail-child-neglect-baby-died-vitamin-deficiency.html\">stories of vegan parents<\/a> refusing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/morning-mix\/wp\/2016\/07\/11\/italian-baby-fed-vegan-diet-hospitalized-for-malnutrition\/\">to give proper care to<\/a> their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/news\/national\/vegan-couple-serve-life-sentences-starving-baby-death-court-rules-article-1.957707\">newborn children<\/a> have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ottawasun.com\/2015\/04\/10\/parents-of-toddler-whose-vegan-diet-led-to-death-sentenced-to-30-months\">multiplied in recent years.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But I, personally, have nothing about vegetarian food in itself. As for any food, I enjoy eating what tastes good. Overcooked and under-seasoned food is bad, no matter how you present it. No faux-meats or Mycoprotein or \u201ctexturized vegetable protein\u201d for me. Seriously, just the thought of TVP makes me gag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other hand, I spent 6 weeks in India in 2013 eating 90% vegetarian and enjoyed every meal. Because, in the end, how\u2019s the food? What does it taste like? I\u2019m not a toddler. I can live without a certain group of nutrients for a little while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And before you start sending me hate-mail for refusing to see the bigger environmental picture, spare your poor fingers.
