Equipment

  • 1 Cocktail Cup
  • 1 shaker
  • 1 fine mesh sieve

Ingredients
  

  • 60 ml AƱejo tequila (100% agave only)
  • 22 ml Grand marnier cordon bleu
  • 22 ml Lime juice (Freshly squeezed)
  • 15 ml Egg white
  • Salt
  • 1 Very thin slice of lime
  • Orange bitters

Instructions
 

  • Put lime juice on the outside rim of a cocktail glass. Pour salt to make a rim on the outside of the glass only.
  • In a shaker filled with ice, put all ingredients - except the lime slice - plus a tiny pinch of salt (for luck!)
  • Shake vigorously
  • Pour, through the strainer, into the cup
  • Garnish with the thin slice of lime and four drops of orange bitters over the foam

Notes

- Avoid Angostura brand orange bitters. They are too strong for this recipe.
- You can substitute tequila with a good mescal reposado for a more racy, smoky cocktail.
- Add agave syrup to taste. I prefer my cocktails a little drier, so the Grand Marnier sugar is more than enough for me!
