BERLIN, Germany – For some, travelling is an irreplaceable happiness. For others, traveling is business; an obligation that can become unpleasant.
Both types of traveller occasionally find they are in need of small comforts — sweets, pleasures, experiences that bring healing and delight. For many, a good steak is one of those comforting experiences. It is perhaps for this reason that Marriott, the international hotel chain, has in several of its properties a branch of the Midtown Grill steakhouse.
For the weary traveller who does not want to go out, who wants to eat, relax and watch a movie at the hotel before going to bed, a steak is probably the perfect solution. The steakhouse features a charcoal grill, a long list of meat entrees, a choice of simple side dishes and red wine served by the glass or bottle.
I love luxury meats and this grill has a nice wagyu beef selection. But my favorite cut is undoubtedly the bone-in ribeye, medium rare, leaning towards the rare side. Yes, that’s what I ordered. I’m picky, like that.
I loved my steak. The sides were great. The wine too. Simple and fast, leaving time for a nap before taking the city by storm. Awesome!
